Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) will host Registration Roundup event at the Dyersburg campus for current and new students. Advisors will be available to help with admissions, financial aid, and registration.

The Roundup Registration will be held July 20 and August 10 at the Dyersburg campus inside the Student Center from 1-7 p.m.

E. H. Lannom Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) will host its annual Ed Lannom, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament Friday afternoon, Sept. 10, at The Lenox Event and Golf Company in Dyersburg.

Last year’s winning team was the City of Newbern, which included team members Zach Walden, Jason Roberts, Steven Pennington and Mark Madden. They were awarded the coveted crystal College Cup that has been on display at City of Newbern in Newbern for the past year.

Door prizes will be awarded at the end of the tournament.

The cost for a team of four is $400 and includes a catered lunch between 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place teams in two flights. College for Kids

Registration Open for DSCC’s College for Kids In-Person Summer Program

 

Dyersburg, Tennessee – The Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) Division of Continuing Education will offer its annual College for Kids summer program in-person at the Dyersburg campus July 6-9 from 8 a.m. - noon each day. The program is available for children entering the fourth through sixth grade during the upcoming 2021-2022 academic year.

 

This year’s program features a safari theme entitled, “Come Explore with Us,” and will consist of stimulating and educational classes including acting and improv, arts and crafts, cake decorating, dance and cheer, drawing and sketching, sports and games and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

 

The cost is $90 per child and includes supplies, daily snacks and a T-shirt. The deadline to register is June 18.

 

The College will follow strict guidelines for preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus including the requirement of face masks at all times, daily temperature checks and a health screening questionnaire.

1st Annual Eagle Run 5K and 1-Mile Walk

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) will host its first annual Eagle Run 5K and 1-Mile Walk Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. on the Dyersburg campus. Proceeds will benefit student programs, activities and scholarships for the College’s Student Government Association (SGA) and Alpha Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society. Race categories include a 5K and a Family Fun 1-Mile Run and Walk. Each 5K runner and 1-mile walk participant will receive a medal, plastic tumbler and a t-shirt for participating. Each Family Fun 1 Mile Run or Walk team participant will receive one medal, plastic tumbler and t-shirt per team. For teams of 10 or more, the captain’s fee will be waived and he or she will receive a free t-shirt.

Race fees for the 5K are $35 for individuals or $30 for DSCC students. Fees for the 1 Mile Walk are $30 per person. Family entries are $45 per team of five participants. Additional team members are $5 each.

Participants who register by July 10 will receive a medal. Teams will receive one t-shirt for their team captain. Additional shirts will be sold for $15 and can be purchased during the online registration process.

In-person registration/check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. on race day.

Vendor booths will be available at a cost of $100 during the race and will be set up at Okeena Park in front of the DSCC E.B. Eller Administration Building. Virtual New Student Orientation

Dyersburg State Offering Exciting Virtual Orientation Experience for New Summer and Fall Students

 

Students planning to attend Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) this summer and fall will be able to take part in an improved New Student Orientation virtual experience via Zoom teleconferencing. During orientation, students will have an opportunity to have live interaction with faculty and staff and ask questions. Students will learn more about courses and majors, financial aid, student services, tutoring, student life organizations and will be able to register for classes, all in one day.

New Student Orientation is required of all new students and must be completed by the first week of classes, however, the sooner students sign up and attend, the more choices will be available in building a class schedule. 
 

Virtual events will be held live via Zoom on April 29 at 4 p.m., May 6 at 4 p.m., June 9 at 2 p.m., June 17 at 5:30 p.m., July 13 at 5:30 p.m., July 28 at 2 p.m., Aug. 5 at 10 a.m., or Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. Orientation for student-athletes will be held Aug. 12 at 2 p.m.

Students must schedule an appointment to attend through AppointmentPlus at www.dscc.edu/appointment. Once they have registered, a Zoom link will be sent to their email before the event.
