Admissions Requirements

Applying for admission to DSCC is an easy process. Admissions requirements vary according to your most recent educational experience. Find the category that describes you:

New Freshmen

High school graduates, students with an ACE External Degree Program, or students who have earned a high school equivalency diploma entering college for the first time.

Readmit Students

Students who have attended Dyersburg State in the past and wish to return.

Transfer Students

Students who have attended another college or university and want to transfer to Dyersburg State.

Transient Students

Student from another institution who takes classes during a semester at Dyersburg State and transfers the credits to the home institution the following semester.

Dual Enrollment

High school students who wish to earn college credits while still in high school.

Gifted and Talented

Students in middle school or high school and are classified as "gifted and talented".

International Students

You are not a U.S. citizen and are interested in obtaining an F1 student visa and working toward a degree with Dyersburg State.

Non-High School graduate, no High School Equivalency Diploma

You did not complete high school with a standard diploma and do not have a high school equivalency diploma (GED or HiSET).

Personal or professional enrichment

Student who is taking one or more courses for credit or audit, but is not pursuing a degree or certificate credit program.

Under The Tennessee Eligibility Verification for Entitlements Act (EVEA), DSCC is required to verify that a person seeking a state public benefit – including in-state tuition – is either a United States citizen or lawfully present in the United States. There are various ways that you can comply with EVEA.
