Interim Head Baseball Coach

Tyler Brown is in his fourth season with the Dyersburg State Eagles and is currently serving as the Interim Head Baseball Coach. During Brown’s first season as assistant coach, he helped the team achieve an overall record of 40-5 and a conference record of 31-1.  In Brown’s second season, the Eagles finished with an overall record of 42-13 and a conference record of 20-7.  Last year, the Eagles completed the season with a 32-21 overall record and a 15-10 conference record.

Prior to Dyersburg State, Tyler Brown spent two seasons as the graduate assistant coach at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS.  At DSU, Brown's responsibilities included coaching the outfielders and first basemen. He also assists with the hitters and infielders.  During his tenure, Brown helped the Statesmen capture the 2019 GSC Baseball Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division II South Super Regional in Tampa, FL.

The Friendship, TN, native played two seasons at Delta State, playing in 32 games with 14 starts in left field. During his playing days, Brown helped the Statesmen capture two Gulf South Conference Regular Season titles (2017, 2018) and the 2017 GSC Tournament Championship. The Statesmen won the NCAA Division II South Region Championship to advance to the 2017 NCAA Division II World Series.

Brown spent his first two seasons playing at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, before arriving at Delta State University. During his time with Lipscomb, Brown played in 41 games with 16 starts for the Bisons.

Brown played his prep career under Preston Ozment at Dyer County High School in Newbern, TN. He was a 2014 Louisville Slugger All-American, leading the state of Tennessee with 68 hits as a senior while batting .489 with 22 doubles. Brown also received First-Team All-State selection by the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association (2014), Perfect Game All-Southeast Region Honorable Mention (2014), All-District selection (2012 and 2014), and team MVP (2011 and 2014). Brown was rated the No. 5 outfielder and the No. 34 overall player in the state of Tennessee by Perfect Game. He graduated from DCHS with a 4.0 GPA and was ranked in the top 10 of his class.

Brown obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Delta State University and a Master of Science in Sport and Human Performance with a concentration in Sports Management from Delta State University. 

Tyler resides in Dyersburg, TN, with his wife, Lizzie, and daughter, Brooklyn.
