Financial Aid Requirements
Eligibility requirements may vary for each financial aid program, but there are a number of general eligibility requirements common to each.
- Students must have “financial need” which is determined by subtracting the expected family contribution as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from the cost of attendance.
- Students must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens.
- Students must have a valid Social Security number.
- Students must enroll as regular students in an eligible program of study.
- Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress as measured by the Financial Aid Office.
- Students must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Students cannot receive Federal Title IV funds for more than the first 30 credit hours attempted in learning support classes.
- Students cannot be in default on a student loan or owe a money back on a federal student grant.
- Students may not receive a Federal Pell Grant for attendance at more than one school for the same period of time.
