PLANNING TO EARN A BACHELOR'S DEGREE?
The FOREIGN LANGUAGE emphasis (Tennessee Transfer Pathway) is designed to provide the student with the first two years of academic training necessary to complete a degree in Foreign Language at a four-year college or university. DSCC offers dual admission opportunities with several universities.
Degree Plan Requirements for the Foreign Language emphasis by catalog year:
2021-2022, 2020-2021, 2019-2020, 2018-2019, 2017-2018
Typical jobs: teacher, translator, government related careers, career positions in foreign countries after obtaining a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. The student who acquires an Associate of Arts degree may further their education at a four-year institution as a FOREIGN LANGUAGE major (Tennessee Transfer Pathway) or as an education major. Students should contact the transfer institution about the requirements of their proposed major so that they can plan their program of study at Dyersburg State Community College accordingly.
NOTE: During the sophomore year, students planning to teach should meet the PRAXIS Core Academic Skills for Educators or ACT testing requirements for their transfer institution.
