Eagle Access
Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) encourages applications to its Eagle Access Program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a grant funded program through Tennessee Believes and the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. DSCC is the first and only community college in Tennessee to start a comprehensive transition and postsecondary program (CTP). The program is designed to help students gain independence, increase employment training and skills development, and increase their socialization skills.
Eagle Access is a four-term, two-year program. Students will take two college classes (audit or credit) based on their interests, needs, and goals each term. Students will also take four non-college level courses through Workforce Development: Life Skills/Independent Living, Digital Literacy, Career Development/Exploration, and Eagle Access Internship work-based learning experience throughout the program. Students will receive a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the program and will be invited to participate in annual commencement exercises.
