Tipton County Art Exhibit

Featured artwork from "Aspirations" exhibit on display through Aug. 1

The 2019 Tipton County art exhibit, “Aspirations,” is on display at the Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County through Aug. 1. The exhibit is located throughout the Ripley Power and Light Company Lobby inside the Learning Resource Center.

The judge for this year’s exhibit was Bill Hickerson, executive director for the West Tennessee Regional Art Center in Humboldt. Award winners were: Best of Show to Mike Elkins for Dogwood; first place to Carl Robertson for Stand by Me; second place to Monica Parks for Limitless; third place to Kristine Harrington for A Quiet Place; Best Creativity to Lene Brown for Self Portrait=Dreams Coming True; and Best Use of Color to Lynda Davison for Hummer. Three honorable mentions were awarded to Cathy Kinney for Forced Family; Donna Rhodes for Temple of Isis; and Robin Porter for Headed to the Beach.

This is the fourth year for this art exhibit, which is open to all artists at least 18 years old who reside in Tipton County. DSCC, the Tipton Arts Council, Inc., the Tipton County Museum, and Debra Moody sponsor this exhibit.
