Dyersburg State to Host Solar Eclipse Viewing Event

Dyersburg, Tennessee - Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) will host a Solar Eclipse Viewing Event Aug. 21 on the Dyersburg campus. Activities will kick off at 12 noon inside the DSCC Student Center with a welcome message from President Karen Bowyer and a short presentation by Aklilu Maasho, assistant professor of physics. Viewing glasses will be passed out to visitors beginning at 12:30 p.m. The event will also be live streamed via NASA inside the Student Center.

Weather permitting, the DSCC Dyersburg campus will view a partial eclipse when the moon obscures part of the sun. A total eclipse will be viewable throughout a 70-mile wide path that crosses 14 of the United States (U.S.) from Oregon to South Carolina.
