On-Site Screenings and Procedures for Spring Semester

On and off-campus protocols announced to keep everyone safe

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) will continue the current daily health screenings and safety procedures at its Dyersburg, Covington and Trenton locations for the spring semester. The College is following guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention.

Most students will start the first week of spring semester by attending classes online or via Zoom teleconferencing Jan. 19-22 to allow faculty time to prepare students and communicate class delivery methods. Students are encouraged to log in to DSCC eLearn to check for an email from their instructor(s) with more information and a Zoom link.

As students, faculty and staff arrive on-site, a daily COVID-19 Health Screening Questionnaire, temperature check and face mask will be required before entry. An entrance pass or fail message will be received via their MyDSCC email based on the answers to the screening questions. The questionnaire will be completed only once daily, however, those receiving an entrance pass will need to be prepared to show it upon entry into each building. Passes expire each day at 11 p.m. CDT. Temperatures will be checked using a digital kiosk each time a person enters a building.

The College recommends that students arrive 15-20 minutes early before classes or appointments to allow time for the check-in process and should maintain 6-foot distance from others as they wait their turn. Designated entrances and exits for each building will be marked with a green entrance and red exit sign. Maps showing these entrances and exit locations can be viewed ahead of time at www.dscc.edu/screening. Classroom desks will be marked to provide adequate social distancing between students.

Students, faculty and staff are required to fill out and submit the Public Health Expectations for COVID-19 Safety Form one time only before classes begin to show their commitment to keeping the DSCC community safe and healthy.

Additional information regarding how to access the daily COVID-19 Health Screening Questionnaire via MyDSCC email accounts on the Microsoft Outlook app, along with helpful pre-arrival tips and guidelines can be found online at www.dscc.edu/screening.
