Hudnall Appointed Dean of DSCC's Jimmy Naifeh Center

President Karen Bowyer has announced the appointment of Christie Hudnall as the new dean of the Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County.

Hudnall comes to DSCC from Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Newbern (TCAT-Newbern) where she served as vice president of college and business affairs and workforce development since 2018. Prior to this, she served as the administrative office technology instructor from 2014 to 2018 at TCAT-Newbern; a staff accountant at Martha Crites CPA from 2013 to 2014; a customer service manager at Time Warner Cable from 2010 to 2013; and a staff accountant and human resources manager at Ripley Gas & Water Department from 2002 to 2010.

“It is my profound honor and privilege to be able to serve as the dean of the Jimmy Naifeh Center - an institution where my college education began,” stated Hudnall. “I look forward to working with a passionate team that makes student success a priority.”

Hudnall is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Higher and Adult Education at the University of Memphis. She earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business-Related Technology from DSCC in 1999; a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Bethel University in 2001; and a Master of Education degree in Instructional Leadership with a concentration in Career and Technical Education from Tennessee State University in 2018. She holds certifications in Microsoft Office Specialist – Word 2013, Excel 2013 and PowerPoint 2013.

She is a member of several community organizations including the Halls Rotary Club; Northwest Safeline; Junior Auxiliary; and Lauderdale County Relay for Life. She is also a graduate of Leadership Lauderdale County.

In Hudnall’s new role as dean, she will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities and operational functions conducted at the Center. She will provide leadership, direction and supervision for the Center staff and represent the College at community events in Tipton and Lauderdale counties. In addition, Hudnall will assist DSCC in responding to the educational demands of the community including those of local businesses and industries.
