Homecoming Royalty Crowned
Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) celebrated homecoming 2019 by crowning new royalty during its men’s and women’s basketball games Feb. 22 inside the E.H. Lannom, Jr. Gymnasium.
Destinee Humphrey of Gates was crowned the new 2019 homecoming queen. Her homecoming court consisted of Hanna Box of Dyersburg and Contessia Brown-Spears of Ripley.
Humphrey is the daughter of Hazel Johnson. She is majoring in psychology and is a member of the DSCC cheer team. Upon graduation at DSCC, Humphrey plans to attend Arkansas State University to pursue her dream of becoming a clinical psychologist working with adolescents.
Box is the daughter of Jeff and Brandy Box. She is majoring in sports and leisure management and is a member of the DSCC lady eagles basketball team and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Upon graduation at DSCC, she plans to attend a four-year college to pursue her baccalaureate studies. Box intends on becoming a basketball coach or scout.
Brown-Spears is the daughter of Roger and Angelique Wesley. She is majoring in pre-physical therapy and is participating in DSCC’s Tennessee Consortium of International Studies (TnCIS) program to study abroad in Denmark this spring. Upon graduation, she plans to transfer to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
