Four DSCC Athletes Selected TCCAA First Team

Lady Eagle Taylor Named Freshman of the Year

Four members of Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC’s) men's and women's basketball teams were voted by conference coaches to the All-Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) as first team selections. The awards were presented April 10 following the TCCAA/Region VII Championship game at Volunteer State Community College.

Women’s basketball point guard Ciara Taylor of Memphis was named All-TCCAA Region VII West Freshman of the Year. In addition, sophomore guard and forward Caroline Singleton of Paris and Ciara Taylor were selected to the first team All-TCCAA. Singleton averaged 17 points and 8 rebounds per game while Taylor averaged 15 points, six rebounds along with four assists per game.

Men’s sophomore guards Mark Edmond of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Jean Iciano of Bronx, New York, were selected to the first team All-TCCAA. Edmond averaged 13 points and 10 rebounds per game while Iciano averaged 21 points, seven rebounds and led the team with a 54-field goal percentage.
