Erin Steelman Newsom Appointed as New Academic Success Coach at DSCC

Dyersburg State Community College President Karen Bowyer has announced the appointment of Erin Steelman Newsom as an Academic Success Coach.

“We are very fortunate to attract Erin Newsom to Dyersburg State Community College,” stated Dr. Bowyer. “Her experience will be a great asset as we continue to increase enrollment at the DSCC.

Newsom comes to DSCC from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Newbern (TCAT-Newbern), serving as financial aid specialist since 2018. Before this, she served in various student support roles at TCAT-Newbern, including academic support associate, financial aid associate, and student support associate since 2015.

Dr. Jan Reid-Bunch, vice president of the college, said, “we are excited for Erin Newsom to join our Enrollment Services team. Her experience brings a wealth of knowledge to assist students in reaching their educational goals.”

Newsom earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
