Dyersburg State Saddened by the Loss of Covington Student

The DSCC community is deeply saddened by the passing of our student Tamia Taylor.

The entire Dyersburg State Community College community is deeply saddened by the passing of our student Tamia Taylor, who attended our Jimmy Naifeh Center in Covington, TN. Ms. Taylor was working toward her Healthcare Technician Certificate.  

According to news reports, she had been missing for two weeks after last being seen on a riverboat cruise in Memphis on September 9. Her body was discovered on September 23 on the Arkansas side of the Mississippi River, following an intensive search by authorities and volunteers, and her mother confirmed it was Tamia.

Our students, faculty, and staff join in mourning her passing, and our thoughts are with her family and friends.
