Dyersburg State Hosts Art Exhibit at the Jimmy Naifeh Center

(DSCC is hosting an art exhibit by artist Georgia Tedford.

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) is hosting an art exhibit by artist Georgia Tedford. The exhibit will be on display inside the Learning Resource Center at the Jimmy Naifeh Center through February 11. In addition, an artist reception is planned for Friday, November 18, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The exhibit and reception are open to the public.

Georgia Tedford is a sixteen-year-old student attending Covington High School (CHS). She is currently involved in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), FCLA (Future Career &

Community Leaders of America), and the CHS archery team. She has served and volunteered on the Teen Advisory Board at Tipton County Public Library, Paws and Claws Animal Rescue Program, The Historic Ruffin Theater, and CIAA theater.

In the summer of 2022, Tedford was invited to the Washington Journalism and Media Conference (WJMC) hosted by George Mason University in Washington, D.C. WJMC is a program for highly engaged high school students from all over the country to experience integrated and forward-thinking approaches to journalism and media while acquiring valuable knowledge.

Georgia has taken art lessons since third grade. She aspires to become a world history teacher and move overseas to teach abroad. Currently, she is fluent in five languages. Her love for foreign cultures and languages, as well as her favorite artist, Jean Basquait, inspire many of her paintings.
