DSCC held a Virtra Simulator training at the JNC for Munford High School students.

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) held a Virtra Simulator training at the Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County (JNC) on Feb. 7 – 8 for Munford High School students assisted by DSCC’s Associate Professor of Criminal Justice Michael Books.

DSCC purchased the Virtra V-100 Training Simulator in 2021 to aid as a mobile training tool for the Criminal Justice Program. The Virta V-100 simulates real-life scenario training that stresses officer and citizen’s safety. In addition, it will benefit the student curriculum and law enforcement by providing training in de-escalation situations including corrections, courtroom security, domestic violence, Emotionally Disturbed Person (EDP), vehicle stops, mental illness, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and suicidal subjects.
