Dyersburg State Holds Veterans Day Ceremony at the Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) held its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County (JNC) on Nov. 11 at 8 a.m.

DSCC Vice President Dr. Jan Reid-Bunch welcomed faculty, staff, students, and local community members to the JNC. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ms. Angela Martin, Assistant Professor of History, followed by the parading of the colors by the Navy Junior Reserve Offers’ Training Corps (NJROTC). Sarah Twaddle, Veterans Academic Success Coach, introduced Mr. Thomas Frost, Instructor of Music and DSCC Choir Director, to perform the National Anthem. The guest speaker was the Mayor of the Town of Brighton Stephanie Chapman-Washman. Closing remarks were made by Dean of the JNC Christie Hudnall.

Flags were displayed on the lawn of the Dyersburg campus Nov. 11-12 to pay tribute to our veterans through a flag fundraiser. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit scholarships for students who are veteran or military-affiliated.
