DSCC PTK President to Run for International Office

DSCC PTK President Chloe Johnson has announced her candidacy for international office.

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) President Chloe Johnson has announced her candidacy for international office. She will campaign from now until the International Catalyst Conference in April 2023.

Chloe has been a PTK member since 2020. She serves as the Tennessee Regional Vice President West, DSCC PTK President, and DSCC Student Ambassador. In addition, she assisted in the initial proposal to start a program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, now known as the Eagle Access Program. “Chloe Johnson is one of the most driven and professional students I’ve met. She has served as president of our chapter and the Vice President West for the Tennessee Region of Phi Theta Kappa. I would describe her as stellar inside and outside the classroom. I am so excited to see her strive to achieve such an ambitious goal,” stated Dr. Brigham Scallion.

“I have been a part of Phi Theta Kapa for two and a half years. I am a great listener with a positive attitude. I am not afraid to take the ideas and dreams of my fellow peers and try my best to make them become a reality. My career goals are to get my Registered Nursing (RN) degree and then return for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I will then pursue my Master of Science in Nursing, Doctorate of Nursing Practice, and Master of Business Administration. I am seeking the International President position because I want to encourage and promote beneficial growth through diversity and inclusivity. Seeing outstanding leadership through current and past International Officers has encouraged me to pursue this leadership position. My peers and my administrative leaders have also inspired me. I want to be your voice, the voice of the student body. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” stated Chloe Johnson.

The goal of the Alpha Epsilon Alpha Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society is to recognize its members' academic achievements and to provide an opportunity for them to become actively involved in student life. Members should exemplify four hallmarks of the society: scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship.
