DSCC Offers Logistics and Supply Chain Management Program

DSCC will be offering the Logistics and Supply Chain Management program at the Dyersburg campus.

In spring 2022, Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) will be offering the Logistics and Supply Chain Management program at the Dyersburg campus.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Business with a concentration in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is designed to prepare students for employment or advancement in high-demand careers in the logistics and supply chain industry. The degree is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required in purchasing, warehouse management, transportation management, quality control, and continuous improvement methods.

The business program at DSCC is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The concentration is specifically designed for students who plan to enter the workforce after graduation. Students who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree should follow the Business Administration emphasis in the University Parallel Major leading to an Associate of Science degree.

Erika Richardson, Transportation Manager at Dot Transportation, Inc., will be the program's instructor. She has a Bachelor of Business in Supply Chain Management degree from Western Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Leadership degree from William Woods University.

According to Ms. Richardson, “Degrees in logistics and supply chain management lead to high-demand, fast-paced careers in purchasing, inventory, warehousing and transportation.  According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for logisticians for the next decade is much faster than average, and the wages are highly competitive.  For someone considering a business career, I would encourage them to explore specializing in logistics and supply chain management.”

The deadline to apply for this program is January 18, 2022. To apply visit, www.dscc.edu.
