DSCC Hosts Annual Foundation Board Dinner

DSCC held its annual Foundation board meeting and dinner on November 7.

Dyersburg State Community College held its annual Foundation board meeting and dinner on November 7 at the Student Center on the Dyersburg campus. DSCC faculty, staff, board members, and their guests were in attendance for the special event.

Dinner was followed by an update on the college by President Cook. President Cook and Dr. Kevin Cook, Vice Chair of the DSCC Foundation Board, presented a certificate of recognition to the outgoing board members, Mr. Charles Brasfield and Mr. Danny Watson, and the outgoing board chair, Mr. Jeff Agee.

Cris Perkins, Associate Vice Chancellor for the Tennessee Board of Regents System, presented the philanthropy awards for the evening. The Excellence in Philanthropy Regents Award was presented to the Sells and Quertermous Families (McDonald’s Corporation). The Sells and Quertermous families have donated $553,172.70 to Dyersburg State Community College. Frazier Roofing and Sheet Metal Co., Inc. received the Chancellor’s Award for Philanthropy. Barry Frazier and his wife, Julie, have donated $120,694.50. In addition, a brief business meeting followed the awards presentations.

The DSCC Foundation would like to offer a special thanks to White Squirrel Winery, Reelfoot Brewing Company, and Clark Distributing Co., Inc. for their help in sponsoring dinner beverages.

The DSCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. The non-profit organization was established to promote and support DSCC's mission. Earnings from the endowment funds are used to assist DSCC and its students.

Contributions to the DSCC Foundation are tax-deductible. Bequests, legacies, devises, transfers, or gifts to the DSCC Foundation or for its use are deductible for Federal estate and gift tax purposes if they meet the applicable provisions of Code sections 2055, 2106, and 2522.
