DSCC Crowns Homecoming Royalty, Honors Queens from the Past

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) celebrated homecoming 2020 by crowning new royalty and honoring past homecoming queens during its men’s and women’s basketball games Feb. 8 inside the E.H. Lannom, Jr. Gymnasium.

The College’s 2019 homecoming queen, Destinee Humphrey of Gates, crowned Precious Lindsley of Dyersburg as the new 2020 homecoming queen. Her homecoming court consisted of second maid Suzanne Fultz and first maid Jasmin Stephenson, both of Dyersburg.

Lindsley was escorted by her father, Carlos Lindsley. She is majoring in Administrative Professional Technology and is currently training to become a youth minister.

Fultz, escorted by her friend Codie Dunlap of Newbern, is majoring in Biology and is a member of the DSCC Student Government Association; the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society; serves as the DSCC Mascot; and works as a tutor for the Student Support Services program. She was a delegate to the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature held in Nashville last fall.

Stephenson was escorted by her friend, Ben Richards of Dyersburg. She is majoring in Early Childhood Education and is a member of the DSCC Baptist Collegiate Ministry. She currently works at the College’s Help Desk, assisting fellow students with questions about technology.

The Alumni Association honored nine past homecoming queens including Deborah Jones (1973-1974), Paula Jordan Jetton (1977-1978), Laurie Gamble (1981-1982), Maleia Evans (1985-1986), Rhonda Broussard (2001-2001), Breka Moorestone (2005-2006), Jessica Jones Ward (2007-2008), Gwendolyn Wardlow (2009-2010), and Lannette Frier (2014-2015).
