DSCC Constitution Day Activities Planned at the Dyersburg Campus

DSCC will celebrate Constitution Day on Monday, September 18, at 5:30 p.m.

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) will celebrate Constitution Day on Monday, September 18, at 5:30 p.m., on the Dyersburg campus in the Learning Resource Center (LRC).

Chancellor Tony Childress, 29th District Chancery Court in Tennessee, will be the guest speaker during Constitution Day and the Student Government Association Induction.

Chancellor Childress was first elected to the 29th Judicial District Chancery Court in 2008 and elected again in 2014 and 2022. Before being elected Chancellor, he served as Dyer County's General Session and Juvenile Court Judge from 2006-2008. Chancellor Childress served as President of the Tennessee Trial Judge Association from 2019-2021 and is currently serving a term on the Tennessee Board of Judicial Conduct. Before becoming a judge, he worked as an Assistant Public Defender from 1999-2000 and as a Staff Attorney for the Western Section of the Court of Appeals from 2000-2006. Chancellor Childress graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1992 and the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphrey's School of Law in 1998. Along with his career in the legal field, he has also served his community as a school board member and currently serves as a Captain with the Bogota Volunteer Fire Department.
