DSCC Celebrates Groundbreaking for the New Athletic Facilities

The Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) held a groundbreaking for the new baseball and softball training facility and the new synthetic turf for the infield and sidelines for the softball field on Tues., Oct. 19.

During the event, Dr. Karen Bowyer, president of DSCC, Robert White, head baseball coach, and George White, head softball coach, gave remarks on behalf of the College. Additional remarks were made by Jeff Agee, First Citizens National Bank Chairman and CEO, Mayor John Holden, City of Dyersburg, and Slater Barr, Dyersburg/ Dyer County Chamber of Commerce.

The proposed new athletic training facility will be located on the east side of the DSCC baseball field. The building would serve as an indoor training facility for both women's softball and men's baseball and will serve as a multi-purpose building for other athletic teams and clubs for DSCC.
