DSCC Announces 2023 Ed Lannom, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament

DSCC will host its annual Ed Lannom, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, October 6.

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) will host its annual Ed Lannom, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, October 6, at The Lenox Event & Golf Company at the Farms in Dyersburg, TN. The DSCC Athletic Department sponsors the annual event, with proceeds benefiting athletic program needs. Tee time is set for 1:00 p.m.

“Break out the clubs and come join us for the Ed Lannom, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament! We are hoping for great weather and a great time as we help support our DSCC Athletic teams. With your support, you are investing in the future lives of our student-athletes as we strive to make a positive difference via the classroom, competition, and in the community during their time at DSCC,” stated Brian Oakes, Athletic Director.

Last year’s winning team was Harry Ferrell’s team; the overall winner of the first flight included team members Harry Ferrell, Gerald Horton, Steve Forsythe, and Brian Lee. The City of Newbern, consisting of Jason Roberts, Ryan Gammon, Mark Madden, and Steve Pennington, placed second. The Brew Crew #2 placed third and included team members Dan Ekvall, Mike Mangrum, Greg Moore, and Tony Berardi.

In addition to the College Cup, participants can win prizes in various contests, including a putting contest, a hole-in-one contest, a longest drive contest, and a closest-to-the-pin contest. Back by popular demand will be the “Eagle Swing,” in which golfers purchase a chance for a DSCC baseball or softball team member to take the first swing from the tee box.

Participants who submit their registration and payment by Friday, September 29, will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win four complimentary rounds of golf at The Lenox Event & Golf Company. Participants will also receive a door prize.

The cost for a team of four is $400 and includes a catered lunch between 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third-place teams in two flights.
