DSCC Theatre Department presents The Dining Room The Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) Theatre Department is gearing up to present its spring production of The Dining Room by A.R. Gurney.

The cast and crew for the DSCC production include: Angel Hyde of Newbern, Lynn Karlgaard of Dyersburg, Lina Shutts of Dyersburg, Codi Rogers of Brownsville and Brittany Aden of Dyersburg; Chris Reeves of Crockett Mills, Nicholas Patrick of Halls, Michael Hinson of Newbern and Max Andrews of Humboldt, with Brittany Aden serving as stage manager.

The play focuses on the role that the dining room formerly played in upper class America, and the diminishing of that role throughout several generations. Scenes range from a "Father Knows Best" - type family getting ready for a typical day, a young wife banging away at a typewriter on her husband's family's beloved dining table, a grown brother and sister debating over who should get their recently retired mother's dining room furniture.

The play is scheduled to be presented March 17 – March 19 at 7:30 nightly in the First Citizens National Bank Auditorium in the Campus Activities Building on the Dyersburg campus. Admission is $5 for DSCC students, faculty and staff, and senior citizens. General admission is $6. For more information contact Meleia Lewis at mlewis@dscc.edu or 731-286-3261.
