Critical Care Paramedic Program Registration Open at Dyersburg State
Dyersburg State Community College’s (DSCC) Division of Workforce Development and Continuing Education is set to offer the Critical Care Paramedic program. The application deadline for this program is Jan. 24, 2022 with the first class of students starting Jan. 28 and ending April 28, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at the Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County (JNC).
DSCC is recognized as an official training institution in this program to provide critical care paramedic training. Students that attend our program are eligible for critical care endorsement by the State of Tennessee. The course includes more than 150 classroom and clinical hours. In addition to classroom instruction, each student will be required to participate in clinical rotations.
Students must meet the mandatory minimum requirements prior to Jan. 28, 2022 to be eligible for the class. Student must have 2 years of experience as a Tennessee licensed paramedic, a background check with a “Green” or “Pass” score within 90 days of the clinical and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced trauma course, Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS).
The cost for the course is $1,350. Fees not covered in the course include an $80 testing fee and the cost of the two-step TB skin test, MMR vaccine, Varicella vaccine, Hep B vaccine, Rubella vaccine, Tetanus, and health insurance.
