Ribbon Cutting Held for the New Dyersburg State Henry County Center

DSCC and local community members celebrate the new Dyersburg State Community College Henry County Center.

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Henry County Center in Paris, TN, on Wednesday, September 20. 

Dr. Scott Cook, DSCC President, along with the Henry County Mayor, John Penn Ridgeway; Ms. Rachel Steedly, Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce Interim Director; DSCC faculty, staff, and students; and local community members celebrated the new Dyersburg State Community College Henry County Center.

“What a wonderful day for Dyersburg State! We are excited to kick off our official center opening and become an official part of the community in Paris and Henry County. We hoped for a good turnout, and the reception from the Henny County community far exceeded our expectations. Dyersburg State Community College is deeply committed to serving Henry County, but it is evident by the turnout that Henry County is equally committed to supporting Dyersburg State,” stated President Cook.

DSCC offers general education courses that will transfer to 4-year colleges and universities, as well as workforce-ready technical programs that include the Healthcare Technician Program, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and many workforce development training opportunities such as Advanced Manufacturing, FANUC Robotics, Critical Care, and many more. In addition, students can earn their Associate of Arts (A.A.) and/or an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree at the Henry County Center.

“We are excited to be a part of Henry County and bring educational and workforce opportunities to the community. Dyersburg State Community College is committed to being involved in and supporting the community. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this,” stated Shannon Mayo, Director of the Henry County Center.

Ms. Rachel Steedly, Interim Director of the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, stated, "We are so excited to officially welcome Dyersburg State to Paris and Henry County! They already have been a huge asset to this community, and we can't wait to see what the future holds with their presence here."
