Brasfield has a creative history of flower arranging and pottery. She graduated from Christian Brothers University and worked as an investment advisor for approximately 20 years. She took drawing lessons through Germantown Community Center and taught her first art class in 2003. Brasfield then took lessons under Sandee Sander, an oil painter and colorist of the then Artreach Studio and Gallery in Germantown. In 2005, she assisted Sander in teaching her color class. They purchased a 4000 square-foot historic building on the courthouse square in Bolivar and opened On the Square Gallery and Gifts LLC in October 2011. They offer local fine handcrafted gift items, art, and vintage and new items. Classes offered include watercolor, oil, sculpture, perspective, knitting, marbling on paper and fabric, and basket weaving. Brasfield’s works have been featured at The Ned in Jackson in 2018, Memphis Originals in 2005, Hardeman County Arts Council in 2008 and several other art shows in West Tennessee since 2005. She was named the People’s Choice Favorite Artist at Germantown New in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
