Application Process for Veterans
2. Request Transcripts
- Send an official copy of all high school and college transcripts, including military/Joint Service Transcripts (JST) and Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to DSCC.
- Visit JST or CCAF to order military transcripts.
3. Submit an official ACT/Sat score if you are under 21 years of age. If you do not have either/or, sign up to take the ACCUPLACER test.
4. Complete the FAFSA.
- This is not required but highly recommended to ensure you are awarded any aid you may be eligible for outside of your VA benefits.
- DSCC’s school code is 006835.
5. Apply for VA educational benefits.

6. Request and submit your Certificate of Eligibility (COE).
- THIS IS A REQUIREMENT FOR CERTIFICATION. The VA will not pay for any registered classes without certification.
7. Submit a copy of your DD214-Member4 or NOBE.
8. Complete and submit all required documents located on this page.
9. Meet with your advisor to develop a plan towards graduation and register for classes during a designated orientation day or a scheduled meeting.
- In order for the VA to pay for classes, designate a program of study which will lead to an Associate of Arts, Science, or Applied Science degree or eligible certificate listed in the DSCC catalog.
