Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) President Karen Bowyer has announced that Rodney Alford has been named director of workforce development and continuing education. As the director, Alford will oversee non-credit learning opportunities through certificate programs, workforce development and customized training, personal enrichment, and youth programs.

“Mr. Alford’s experience and education made him an ideal choice for this critical position,” stated Dr. Bowyer. “He has had experience training people in manufacturing plants and in business. Now he is prepared to customize training for business and industry to help them have a skilled and competitive workforce.”

In 2000, Alford served as a help desk and student worker at DSCC through 2002. In 2003, Alford became employed as the library assistant III for the DSCC Learning Resource Center, where he remained until 2021, when he was appointed director of workforce development and continuing education.
