ABWA Presents Check to DSCC to Benefit 2020-21 Scholarships

Funds raised from the Southern Accent Chapter's Girls' Night Out Event

Representatives from the Southern Accent Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) presented Dyersburg State Community College’s President Dr. Karen Bowyer with a contribution of $3,253 on June 17.

The funds were raised during ABWA’s annual Girls’ Night Out fundraiser held at the DSCC E.H. Lannom, Jr. Gymnasium on Oct. 24, 2019. Proceeds from the event will be awarded to DSCC students as scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year.

On hand for the presentation were Kathryn McGuire, ABWA Treasurer; Lindsay Ennis, ABWA President, Dr. Karen Bowyer, DSCC president, Heather Balthrop, ABWA Vice-President and ABWA members Jodie King, Ellen Staggs, Whitley Snyder, Kerrie Heckethorn, and Sandy Tarkington.
