2020-2021 Student-Athletes Receive Academic Recognition

NJCAA, TCCAA, and DSCC Awards Announced

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) recognized Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) student-athletes for their academic performance during the 2020-2021 season. The DSCC women’s softball, women’s soccer and women’s basketball teams were awarded the NJCAA All-Academic Team Award. Each team had a combined 3.0 grade-point average (GPA) or higher.

In addition, the following student-athletes earning a 4.0 GPA were named NJCAA First Team: Abby Alton of Paris (softball), Brinley Cousar of Covington (softball) and Emily Reimold of Somerville (soccer). The following student-athletes with a 3.8 - 3.99 GPA were named NJCAA Second Team: Caroline Singleton of Paris (basketball), Hailey Sipes of Newbern (softball) and Chloe Yants of Brownsville (soccer). The following student-athletes with a 3.6 - 3.79 GPA were named NJCAA Third Team: Sophie Galvan of Bells (soccer), Cameron Goodwin of Olive Branch, MS (basketball), Madison Luttrell of Covington (soccer), Arie Milam of Clarksville (softball), Dani Rowe of Arlington (softball), Alea Russell of Dyersburg (basketball), Shelby Terry of Winchester (softball) and Makayla Vincent of Saulsbury (soccer/softball).

DSCC sophomore student-athletes named to the 2020-2021 TCCAA Academic Team were: Zane Morehouse of Dawson, TX (baseball), Cameron Goodwin (basketball), Caroline Singleton (basketball), Madison Luttrell (soccer), Camden Morris of Collinwood (soccer), Mikayla Vincent (soccer), Tydriana Pierce of Covington (soccer) and Sophie Galvan (soccer).

The 2020-2021 TCCAA Academic Team recipient for Highest GPA is Caroline Singleton (basketball).

Student-athletes named to the 2020-2021 Dyersburg State All-Academic First Team were: Abby Alton (basketball/soccer/softball), Gracie Cole (basketball), Brinley Cousar (softball) and Emily Reimold (soccer).  Student-athletes named to the Dyersburg State All-Academic Second Team were: Caroline Singleton (basketball), Hailey Sipes (softball), Chloe Yants (soccer) and Sophia Galvan (soccer).
