Critical Care Paramedic
Dyersburg State Community College Critical Care Paramedic program is a Tennessee EMS Board approved course that involves more than 150 classroom and clinical hours.
DSCC Critical Care Paramedic Minimum Student Requirements:
- Licensed Tennessee Paramedic with a minimum of 2 years field experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
- Current PHTLS or equivalent course

Background check with a "Green" or "Pass" score within 90 days of the clinical

Once the date is set, the first step in the process is to submit an application. Click to access the Application. Complete and email the application to Rodney Alford, Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education at alford@dscc.edu or fax it to 731-286-3264.
Once an application is received and it is determined that the applicant meets the mandatory minimum requirements to be considered a candidate, the applicant will receive a letter containing the set dates for the entrance exam and interview which are mandated by the Tennessee Division of EMS and DSCC Division of Continuing Education. Each applicant eligible for interview must provide a letter of recommendation/support from their employer at the time of interview.
Program Information
The course fee is $1,345 and must be paid within one week of your acceptance into the program. The course fee covers instruction, uniforms, books, $12 per semester insurance fee, $36 background check, and $45 drug-screen. There is an additional $80 testing fee that the student will need to pay to a private company that administers the certification exam.
Class time is TBD. The class will meet in the Security Bank Community Learning Center in room 103, located at 401 Country Club Road, Dyersburg TN 38024.
