Softball Coaching Staff
Coach George White (Coach “G”) believes in putting an emphasis on graduating student-athletes and moving them on to four-year colleges and universities while teaching them team building skills that will hopefully provide great memories they can look back on after DSCC. Coach "G" knows success having been selected twice for First Team All-State in class 4A Missouri baseball during high school. After high school, he attended Mineral Area College where he was a First Team All-Conference and All-Region selection. After MAC, he signed with the University of Missouri, St. Louis, where he also earned All-Conference First Team awards as a catcher. After college, he played four years with the Cape Girardeau Capahas.
Coach “G” has a Bachelor of Science in Sports management as well as a Masters of Education from William Woods University. He and his wife, Amy, live in Dyersburg with their two children Maddie and Sam.
Assistant Softball Coach
Taylor Follis comes to Dyersburg State from Kentucky as the new assistant softball coach. Taylor was born and raised in Germantown, TN, and was a member of the baseball team at Germantown High School. He continued his baseball career playing at Motlow State for two seasons (2010-2012) before transferring to Bethel University in McKenzie in the Fall of 2012.
Coach Follis has nine years of coaching experience at the high school level, coaching baseball, softball, and football. Follis was an assistant baseball and football coach at Ripley High School from 2015-2016 and the assistant baseball and football coach at Covington High School from 2016-2018. From 2019-2021, Taylor served as an assistant coach for baseball and football at McCracken County High School in Paducah. KY before taking over the head baseball position at Trigg County High School in Cadiz, KY, in the Fall of 2021. In his 9-year coaching span, Coach Follis has appeared in 4 state championships, 2017 & 2018, for football at Covington HS. 2019 & 2021 for baseball at McCracken County.

Taylor resides in Dyersburg with his two boys, Cale and Owen.
