General High School Equivalency Credential/ HiSET®

West Tennessee Adult Education Programs are located at county Career Center offices.

  • For more information about registering for the HiSET® and available times to take the free practice test and attend preparatory classes, contact your local Career Center.
  • The Dyer County Tennessee Adult Education Staff may be contacted at 731-501-1109. Select the menu option for the HiSET®.
  • Students are strongly encouraged to start the onboarding process by taking the free practice test and attending class instruction with TN Adult Education. The Adult Ed. staff will also be able to check the possibility of student eligibility for a free first attempt at the HiSET® for students who complete the registration process at their local Career Center. 
  • The HiSET® Official Practice Test is no longer a state requirement to be eligible to register for the exam. Students may self-register for a fee of $75.00 to $100.00 on the PSI website, https://hiset.org/. The testing fee will allow the testing candidate a year's battery with 3 attempts at each of the 5 tests. The price will vary depending on if the student is signed up for Computer-based, Paper-based, or a combination of both testing methods.

The DSCC Testing Center serves the surrounding community as a Certified Testing Center for those seeking to obtain their General High School Equivalency Credential. DSCC offers the HiSET Computer-based tests.
