Gifted and Talented High School Students
Academically gifted and talented students
- Can be a high school freshman or sophomore
- Must have approval to enroll under this admissions category from your high school and the DSCC Office of Enrollment Services
- Are limited to enrollment in no more than nine credit hours per semester
- Must take DSCC courses in concert with the high school unit requirements
- Cannot use DSCC courses in the place of high school unit requirements
- Are not eligible to receive financial aid, including the TN Dual Enrollment Grant
Ready to apply? Follow the steps below:

Complete Application Materials
- Complete the Gifted and Talented Enrollment admissions application.
- Submit the Gifted and Talented Permission Form to the Office of Enrollment Services.

Request Documentation

Transcripts
- Submit an official copy of your high school transcript indicating a 3.2 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

Receive Acceptance
- A letter of acceptance will be sent to you from the Office of Admissions and Records letting you know your next steps.

Pay Fee Balance
- Pay any balance owed or set up deferred payment arrangements at DSCC Student Financial Services by the advertised deadline. Dependents of public school teachers and TBR or UT employees may qualify for a discount. Discount forms can be obtained from the parent's employer and should be received by Student Financial Services by the deadline to pay fees.
